Celebration of Unity in Diversity: Redemption House Lagos Province 53 Independence Monthly Thanksgiving Service
Nigeria is a beautiful tapestry woven from hundreds of distinct languages, rich traditions, and vibrant cultures. Every October, as the nation marks its Independence, we at RCCG Redemption House, Lagos Province 53 take a moment to look beyond our differences and celebrate the ultimate author of our unity: Jesus Christ.
This October, we are taking our gratitude to a whole new level with our Independence Monthly Thanksgiving Service, dedicated to celebrating the diverse cultural groups that make our provincial family so unique.
From the rhythmic beats of the drum to the stunning array of traditional attires, we are gathering as One Church under One God to lift up a unified Nigerian praise!
A Beautiful Mosaic of Worship: Our Cultural Groups
Our theme this month celebrates the fact that while we speak different tongues, we serve the same Living God. This special thanksgiving service will prominently feature and celebrate our unique cultural expressions:
- Akwa Ibom & Cross River: Bringing the beautiful, energetic, and soulful melodies of the South-South, complete with glorious traditional steps.
- Bayelsa: Showcasing the rich riverine heritage, deep-rooted praises, and vibrant expressions of gratitude.
- Edo/Delta: Steeped in royal grandeur and cultural majesty, bringing a powerful sound of praise that reflects resilience and joy.
- The Northerners: Delivering sweet, serene, and deeply spiritual Hausa/Birom/Tiv melodies that remind us of God’s sovereignty over the entire length of our nation.
- Igbo: Leading the house in high-spirited Egwu Praise, prophetic declarations, and the unstoppable joy that breaks chains.
- Yoruba: Adorning the sanctuary in royal Asho-Ebi, pouring out heartfelt Ewi (spoken word poetry), and deep, cultural expressions of praise to Oba Awon Oba (The King of Kings).
- Our Foreigners & International Community: Because the Kingdom of God knows no borders! We celebrate our members and visitors from other nations who have made Redemption House their spiritual home.
What to Expect at the Independence Thanksgiving Service
This isn’t just a regular service—it’s a spiritual festival! Here is a sneak peek of what is in store for you:
🌍 The Parade of Cultures & Intercessory Prayers
Watch as each cultural group processes into the sanctuary in their full, magnificent traditional regalia. We will also be raising a national altar of prayer, standing in the gap for the peace, economic restoration, and spiritual revival of Nigeria.
🍲 A Feast of Joy and Fellowship
What is a cultural celebration without fellowship? The atmosphere will be buzzing with love, unity, and a beautiful opportunity to connect with brethren from different backgrounds over shared joy.
🕊️ The Word for the Nation
Our Pastor-in-Charge of Province (PICP), Pastor Adeniyi Adebanjo, will be releasing a timely, prophetic word concerning Nigeria and declaring individual independence from spiritual bondage, limitations, and struggles for every attendee.
You Are Invited: Come Dressed in Your Heritage!
This is an open invitation to every member, friend, neighbor, and resident of the Surulere community and beyond.
👗 The Dress Code: Come proudly dressed in your native attire, cultural colors, or simply rock the green-and-white to celebrate Nigeria’s independence!
- Bring your family: Let the children witness the beauty of our roots mixed with the fire of the Holy Ghost.
